Co-founder of Coinbase, Fred Ehrsam

Without Fred Ehrsam’s belief and efforts, the burgeoning cryptocurrency sphere may not have been attainable. In 2012, he departed from his role as a trader at Goldman Sachs to merge his interests in computer science and gaming, co-founding Coinbase, the predominant cryptocurrency exchange in the United States alongside Brian Armstrong. His departure from Coinbase’s day-to-day operations in 2017 marked the inception of his own venture firm, Paradigm, with a focus on blockchain technology. During his recent interview on Bloomberg Studio 1.0 with Emily Chang, Ehrsam delves into his initial motivations, the volatility of cryptocurrencies, and his belief that crypto will revolutionize the world in the forthcoming decades, spawning a new type of money, financial system, and internet.
